For Ashe, witnessing Sejuani's death had been a kind of release.
Later, she might find the little fellow named Nunu, tell him Sejuani's story, and let him carry it across Freljord, so this frozen land would remember a soul that had never bowed.
After they repelled the Lost Ones for the second time, Ashe and Lux's journey along the old Ancient Frost Pass became much more peaceful. No more fools came to bother them. In fact, they didn't see a single traveler. This route, which Ashe called "an important passage connecting Lakstak and Northern Freljord," had virtually no traffic at this time of year.
And that peace, in itself, was abnormal.
"Something must have happened to Ornkall." As they neared the northern mouth of Ancient Frost Pass, Ashe's expression grew serious. "It's breeding season, when the livestock have their young, so it's common for no tribes to enter the pass. But we're close to the northern mouth now, and no one's even picked the wild vegetables..."
Lux nodded, clearly understanding what Ashe was implying.
"What tribes live in Ornkall now?" Following Ashe's pointing finger, Lux glanced at the Freljordian wild vegetables, lichen-like plants mingled among the weeds, then asked, "You said it was once the birthplace of Avarosa and Winter's Claw."
"Yes. It's where I lived when I was young." Ashe nodded. "After Avarosa left, it became Winter's Claw's stronghold, until Sejuani entered Rakkor."
"Like passing through Nuskar Pass?"
"Any Freljordian who wants to prove themselves has to go to Lakstak City and see the Three Sisters." Ashe seemed to be talking about Sejuani, and perhaps herself. "After she left, this place should have become the birthplace of new tribes, where they could grow and prosper."
"But?"
"But from what I can see, this place has become a hunting ground
