After greeting her, little Annie immediately plopped herself down across the table from the other woman, not caring one bit whether she minded. Even if she really did, Annie certainly wasn't going to leave.

Kayle had originally assumed the girl had simply noticed that she wasn't an ordinary person and wanted to strike up a conversation. But now she couldn't help being startled, and once again fixed her divine gaze on the astonishing little girl before her.
