It had been more than half a day, and the summit meeting about world security and the related aftermath, hosted by SHIELD on the far side of Luna, was still going on. However, since the meeting had entered one of those "dead" stretches, Coulson, Melinda, and some others who didn't want to stay in the meeting room or weren't high-ranking enough had already left.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
Just then, a strange sound of footsteps rang out, drawing closer...
Coulson and Melinda were waiting outside the meeting room, bored out of their minds, when they unexpectedly saw a strange woman walking toward them, step by step. She wore a sexy, revealing leather outfit, and had a pretty face, smooth, gleaming skin, and bright red hair beneath a captain's hat that looked a little "old-fashioned." Two ornate flintlock pistols with ridiculously large barrels were tucked into her belt, and she wore high-heeled boots that reached her knees.
From the way Coulson's expression changed from shock to delight, it wasn't hard to guess that he knew her.
"Hi~!"
"Dear Coulson, it's so good to see you! I heard you accidentally died again? How are you? You're doing okay now, right?"
The newcomer strode over, bringing with her a pleasant perfume and a strong smell of the sea. She first gave the astonished Coulson a big hug, then planted a hearty kiss on his cheek. After expressing how happy she was to see him—and a few other sentiments—she teased him with her greeting.
"Ah! I-I'm doing fine, of course!"
"We have Annie to thank for it. All of us came back to life. To be honest, dying felt pretty awful..."
