Gongmen City was a city at the mouth of the great river, like one enormous zoo!
At least, that was what little Annie thought. She could see almost every kind of animal found on this part of Earth, so what else could it be but one giant zoo?
Perhaps thanks to its convenient sea, river, and land routes, the city's commerce and culture had flourished under the rule of the old Peacock King and his consorts, and under the stewardship of the council of elders formed by martial heroes led by the recently deceased Thundering Rhino. It truly lived up to its title as the Pearl of the East.
Looking out into the distance, she saw rows upon rows of wooden and stone houses blanketing every part of the city. Carved beams and painted rafters adorned the place, and there were countless imposing, multistory buildings, grand and elegant in an ancient style!
At the city's center stood the Peacock Tower, the tallest and most powerful symbol of Gongmen City. It reached straight into the clouds, and in the light of the sunset, it revealed a magnificent grandeur and dazzling splendor that left people spellbound.
Unlike the peaceful little town of the Valley of Peace, which was like a secluded paradise, bustling Gongmen City was filled with a lively, prosperous atmosphere... Its streets teemed with traffic, its commercial district thrived, its docks bustled with cargo, its food district swarmed with people, and enormous ocean-going ships filled its harbor. Everything showed off the city's glory and dazzling beauty!
