The great battle on Reach had been over for several days. During that time, everything around Reach and Epsilon Eridani had been unusually quiet, without a ripple.

The UNSC's response was much the same as the Covenant's!

In fact, neither the Reaper fleet in space nor the geth on Reach's surface had even considered disrupting communications on the planet. Although that would have been very easy for the geth, who excelled at overloading systems and jamming radar.
