It was cold...
The vast expanse of snow, the dim, hazy sky and the clouds hanging low overhead, and the towering, straight-trunked coniferous forest blanketed in thick snow were the defining features of this world. At least, that was the kind of world Annie was looking at right now.
She still hadn't thought of using her super senses to scan the planet or the entire world, but she didn't need to. She knew this wasn't some high-latitude region in the far north or south. It was either that, or the world was in the depths of a bitter winter!
In any case, little things like that didn't matter to Annie. This terrible, freezing weather couldn't affect her, could it?

After a long while, Annie looked up at the road ahead.
When she saw that they still didn't seem to have reached their destination, she lowered her head again and kept sitting on the crossbar of the carriage. She read her book as the carriages rolled onward, following the fierce-looking soldier uncles, the knight leading the way, and the other carriages carrying a bunch of dejected, filthy-looking people held captive by the soldiers.
Annie wasn't interested in the people around her...
After all, she'd just run into this convoy on the road and, by acting cute (shamefully), forced the knight uncle in charge to let her ride with them to the nearest town. It was called Helgen, and was also known as the Holy City.
