After the dragon attack that razed the city, Whiterun Hold had suddenly fallen without warning. The Jarl of Whiterun had been declared "dead," and the people near the city had either surrendered and submitted or been driven away by the fire monsters. Then a new city was built on the site of the old one.
It was called—Flamewhiterun!
Word had it that a group of "fire monsters" summoned by Arthur had built it in no time at all, using congealed lava mixed with indestructible steel. The result was a magnificent steel fortress-city, erected on the strategically advantageous high ground where Whiterun had once stood.
The low stone-and-wood walls had become terrifying, jagged black steel ramparts dozens of yards high. Several dragon heads had been impaled on the menacing steel spikes along the walls and gates, and among them was the black head of the one known as the "World-Eater"!
Obviously, the dragons captured by a certain little girl had been beheaded by Flamewhiterun's furious soldiers and citizens, who had taken their anger out on them... As for where the World-Eater's soul had gone after its death, and whether it would return again, that remained unknown.
If anyone else could enter the city at that moment, they would see that
all the old Nord-style buildings had vanished. In their place stood sturdy steel structures of all shapes and sizes, built amid fields of lava and fire!
There was, for instance, a fortress-palace like Sulfuron Keep, and the ship-shaped steel building that stood where the "Hall of the Champions" had once been. And of course, beside the Skyforge, there was Sulfuron's Great Forge, where heat-resistant magical armor, "clothing," and weapons were made for the city's residents and other fire elementals...
