A week later...
In a military camp in the southeastern part of the continent of Erathia, where more than a thousand soldiers were stationed beneath a large blue banner edged in gold and emblazoned with a gryphon, Queen Catherine was frowning in the biggest tent. She stared at the hide map of the Kingdom of Erathia spread across the middle of the tent. Little wooden figures and houses marked the positions of the enemy and allied forces, along with the locations of some of the major towns on the continent.
The terrible, alarming markers showing the positions of the opposing forces made her and the generals around her, who were frowning just as deeply, feel sick with worry. So far, the reports gathered from her dispatched generals, the scouts' investigations, and various other sources had allowed them to estimate roughly how much of the Kingdom of Erathia had fallen.
Even though they had received relatively little information so far, and had only been on the continent of Erathia for around twenty days, it was easy to see from the reports that things were truly grim. By now, there were almost no places left in the Kingdom of Erathia under human rule, governed by a lord and organized to resist the invaders. As a result, the map before them showed that every town and stronghold vital to Erathia was marked with the insignia of Nighon or Eeofol. The only land still belonging to Erathia was the small area around Ciarad, where they had landed...
In short, the situation was terrible—far worse than she had imagined when she first landed in Erathia.
But no matter how dire things were, they still had to press on!
After all, she had come to Erathia and chosen to reclaim her homeland. She couldn't just stand
