Little Annie, on the island, clearly saw that damn old Makarov had started making his move.
In fact, everyone on the island had probably seen it by now.
He'd used enlargement magic to turn himself into a gigantic giant, much like her "Wild Growth." He'd grown so tall he reached into the clouds, nearly as big as the island... no, even taller than the island?
Anyway, he'd stood in front of the island to intercept the dark guild Grimoire Heart's magic airship and started fighting them. It had only taken him a few blows to smash their ship into a heap of scrap.
Unfortunately, that dark guild seemed pretty powerful. Someone there could use localized time-reversal magic, restoring the ship that old Makarov had worked so hard to smash to its original, undamaged state in an instant.
Annie didn't watch what happened next.
That old geezer seemed to have run into someone he knew, and she couldn't make out what he was "buzzing" on about over there.
More importantly, the dark guild's bad guys had dropped lots and lots of people onto Tenrou Island, so now she had to get down to business too.
And her business was, without a doubt, turning those enemies into little birds, then catching them and locking them in a cage so she could play with them!
Like, for example...
This strange guy right in front of her: burly, a little pudgy, with fair skin and stiff black hair. He wore a tight-fitting suit and a cape, and looked kind of dumb. When he landed, he'd slammed face-first into the ground right in front of her—but somehow hadn't died from the fall.

"Hey, mister, are you okay? Your neck... is it really all right?"
