The fifth-ranked S-Class hero, known as Child Emperor, was only ten years old. He was said to have an exceptionally high IQ, and was skilled at researching and creating all kinds of high-tech gadgets. The boy carried a backpack full of such gadgets, and was currently fighting a male monster who called himself Phoenix Man.
As someone who had once been one of the Hero Association's strategists, Child Emperor was skilled at using the various weapons hidden in his backpack to attack his enemies. He had also once served as an assistant to Metal Knight, the sixth-ranked S-Class hero. Inspired to become a hero by Blast, the number-one S-Class hero, Child Emperor hadn't found the monster particularly difficult to deal with at first. In fact, he had already chopped him to pieces once.
But...
He'd never imagined that his opponent had a special ability like a phoenix's, allowing him to rise from the dead and grow stronger. It had caught him off guard, and before long, he'd been forced into a tough fight.

Child Emperor struggled to his feet, staggering as he pushed himself up from the ground.
Before his opponent had been reborn through Nirvana, Child Emperor had needed only one layer of his steel-hard kinetic "Nagging Barrier" to stop him, then land a fatal blow and finish him off in an instant.
But now, after rescuing the hostage and coming back to face him again, he'd found that the monster had grown so powerful he could smash through five stacked layers of the "Nagging Barrier" head-on and shatter Child Emperor's shield.
