With psychic powers in her left hand and a long sword in her right, Fubuki (Annie) had fought her way down alone from the entrance to the Monster Association headquarters. By now, she was completely lost and had no idea where she was. She had no idea how many monsters she'd taken down along the way.
At any rate, the two of them had settled into a rhythm: one was willing to teach (and play), while the other was happy to learn. They'd been using monsters of Tiger, Demon, and even Dragon-level disaster ratings as practice targets, cutting them down at will.
Though Fubuki said she still hadn't fully learned many of the techniques, by now, after killing so many monsters, she'd firmly imprinted the valuable experience in her body and muscles: the swordsmanship used to kill monsters, the footwork and dodging, and the fine control of psychic powers. It had all become part of her muscle memory.
As for when those memories in her body would truly become her own combat abilities, that remained to be seen.

Annie lowered her head, reached out, and felt Fubuki's flat stomach. She pressed it, then looked at her limp hand and clenched her fist. She quickly realized something was wrong.
"Hey, Fubuki, your body seems to be getting a little strange..."

After discovering the source of the problem, Annie began speaking to Fubuki in her mind, sounding puzzled.
"Does it?"
"Ah!"
"A-Annie-sensei! It's just because I'm hungry..."
After sensing her body for a moment, Fubuki quickly figured out what was going on.
"Sensei..."
"We've been fighting at high intensity for over an hour and have killed at least dozens of monsters. We haven't had anything to drink or eat, either. My body's starting to run out
