The ships of the Li family fleet, under the command of a certain troublesome little girl, held their positions in a U-shaped formation, unleashing a fierce barrage at the enemies trying to charge at them from three directions.
By now, even the troublesome little girl, Grand Admiral that she was, had realized:
Although the three waterways were surrounded by reefs, the Espinosa Trading Company's ships were relatively small and had shallower drafts. Their medium-sized ships could spread out and charge at the Li family fleet without a care, and they didn't need to worry about striking a reef or running aground.
But if the Li family fleet wanted to get out, they had no choice but to slow down and carefully navigate the winding waterways around the reefs. In the midst of a battle like this, that was obviously an impossible task.
So, lining the fleet up in a U-shaped formation and using it as a fixed gun battery to bombard the enemy and keep them at bay had become one of the few viable options available to the Li family fleet.

The artillery duel continued. Quite a few Espinosa Trading Company ships had been hit and were forced to fall behind, whether because they were on fire, had lost a mast, or for some other reason. They belched thick smoke, mingling with the thunderous cannon fire and bearing witness to the ferocity of the battle in these waters.
But under unified command, even more Espinosa Trading Company ships accelerated and charged onward, gritting their teeth as cannonballs whistled through the air around them. They zigzagged across the broad stretch of sea, bearing down on the Li family fleet.
Of course, for now, only the Li family fleet was firing.
