The four little girls were trudging along the road, exhausted, and were just about to leave the magnificent magic city when Sakura, lagging behind, suddenly tugged on her older sister Rin Tohsaka's clothes and called out softly, sounding unsure.
"What is it?"
"Sakura!"
"Let me tell you, I absolutely, positively will not carry you, so don't even think about it."
"I'm starving too, and I don't have the energy to deal with you!"
Rin stopped up ahead and turned around, speaking in a weary, exasperated voice.
They were still about half an hour from the city gates, and they'd have to stay hungry a while longer. They might not get anything to eat until after they registered.
So Rin couldn't do anything about it either.
After saying that, she started to head off again. Otherwise, if they kept wasting time, they'd only get hungrier. At this rate, they might really end up having to rob someone to get a meal, just like Aunt Luvia had said earlier.
