When the front gates of Leyndell, the Royal Capital, were destroyed for no apparent reason, when the Erdtree was accidentally set ablaze by some troublesome little girl, when the entire city was thoroughly conquered and blanketed by ashes raining from the sky, and when the defenders and their legendary "Omen King," Morgott, all laid down their arms and surrendered, the great battle that would decide the ultimate fate of the Lands Between had, for all intents and purposes, come to an end.

On the very day the Battle of Leyndell, the Royal Capital, was declared over, the "Ashen Council," which would govern and determine the fate of the world, was officially established in the royal court at the Elden Throne, beneath the Erdtree burning with Shadowflame.

From that moment on, the Fire-Eyed Knights officially moved into Leyndell, the Royal Capital, and began taking over its defenses. And the long-held wish of a certain resurrected witch was finally fulfilled: though the Guidance had long since shattered, a certain troublesome little girl had, through one twist of fate or another, ultimately become Elden Lord!

According to reports...

The members of the "Ashen Council," established on the day Leyndell, the Royal Capital, fell, were the former Stormveil little girl monarch Annie Hastur; Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon; Ranni the Witch; Starscourge General Radahn; Malenia the Blade of Miquella; the Empyrean twins Miquella and Malenia; and Morgott, the "Omen King," who had surrendered and offered up his Great Rune. There were seven members in all.

No one knew what the "Ashen Council" had discussed that day. In any case, the people of the Lands Between only knew that, not long after Leyndell, the Royal Capital, fell and the Erdtree was burned, one important piece of news after another began spreading from Leyndell.
