After seeing Xiao Cui'er off, Mo Caihuan felt a little down. She also didn't have much time, so instead of doing her usual daily cultivation, she headed straight for the large wooden basin in the kitchen and stared at the bright red carp inside. It seemed to have grown another size since the night before.
Mo Caihuan was sure she hadn't imagined it. The red carp in the basin really was bigger than it had been when her master brought it home the previous night.
If it had weighed just over a pound when Master Annie first tossed it in last night, then by the time she'd checked on it that morning, it had weighed at least two pounds!
And now it was even more incredible. Just from a quick glance, it looked to weigh at least three pounds.
Normally, a fish kept in a wooden basin like this would either die by the next day or, if it survived, grow thinner and thinner without food. But this one was doing the opposite. The longer it stayed there, the fatter and bigger it got?
Mo Caihuan wasn't all that surprised, though, because she knew the fish in front of her wasn't an ordinary fish. It was actually a monster beast!
That was right, a monster beast!
And her master Annie had caught it herself. Apparently, it had originally been much bigger, but its demon core had been shattered during the capture, which was why it had turned into such a little carp?
What Mo Caihuan couldn't figure out was why it was recovering so quickly. It had grown to around three pounds—an entire size bigger—after just one night.
"Hey!"
"Little carp, little carp, it's not me, Mo Caihuan, who wants to eat you. It's Master. Don't blame me, okay?"
