In the pitch-black expanse of space, as the distance between the two sides rapidly closed, the ten mobile suits—each different in color, armament, speed, and handling—soon began engaging one another in the vast, empty vacuum.
Of course, "engaging" might not be entirely accurate. For some of the pilots, this battle was probably nothing more than a one-sided slaughter.
See?
Not long after the two sides made contact and the fighting began, the enemy's blue Zaku II set its sights on the reconnaissance-type Zaku Kai piloted by Kasukabe You, which was equipped with a sniper beam rifle and other weapons.
The two suits chased and tangled with each other for a short while before she was driven into a corner by the enemy's swinging heat hawk. The distance between them kept shrinking, and no matter how she maneuvered or accelerated, she couldn't shake him.
"!!"
"Eek!"
"Uh-oh!"
"Izayoi!"
"I'm being targeted! I need supp—"
After blindly firing countless shots behind her until her rifle barrel began to glow red and issue warnings, Kasukabe You saw the energy remaining in her suit dwindling and panicked. She had no choice but to call for help over the team channel from the teammate closest to her.
However, Izayoi was busy dealing with his own opponent and barely keeping himself afloat. Until he defeated that enemy, how could he possibly help her?
Before long, the Zaku she piloted was caught because of its poor energy management and overuse of the beam sniper rifle. Its energy pack ran dry, and the enemy caught up with her.
The enemy who closed in showed no mercy. He brought his axe down in a single strike, and the fearsome heat hawk cleanly sliced through her and her mobile suit at an angle, cutting them in two through the cockpit.
