For once, the Orville managed to enter Quill territory without a hitch. Escorted by three Quill warships, it made the journey to the Quill homeworld, Darakos, without encountering a single problem.
The Orville then remained in orbit alongside the three Quill warships, patiently waiting.
And yet...
Just as Annie had privately hoped, something incredibly fun and exciting really did happen.
As for exactly what happened and why things turned out that way, Annie had no idea—and didn't much care.
She hadn't gone with the delegation to the Quill homeworld of Darakos to take part in the signing ceremony. So, just like Aunt Kelly and the others currently aboard the Orville, all she knew was this:
Not long after the five-member group—President Alukuzan, Planetary Union Councilor Balask, Admiral Halsey, the idiot Captain Ed, and the pretty young ensign whose name Annie hadn't remembered—landed on Darakos, they suddenly lost all contact with the Orville.
Then, after the Orville secretly hacked into Darakos's network and found footage of Tereyna improbably winning the election and publicly executing the former President Colin, everyone on the bridge finally began to realize just how serious the situation was.
"Yikes!"

Watching the video playing on the Orville's large viewport, Annie sat in Captain Ed's chair and stared wide-eyed. She didn't pay any attention to Aunt Kelly, who was just as shocked and at a loss for words, and simply exclaimed to herself.
She'd confirmed that the video was real, not some kind of fabricated propaganda.
"So that means!"
