Annie clearly had no idea that those people had ruthlessly abandoned her, nor did she know that a certain bear had been slacking off and deliberately stopped before a tiny cliff. She merely seemed to catch a familiar scent, and only after quite some time did she slowly wake from her daze.

Once Annie finally woke up and rubbed her eyes, she quickly confirmed that the familiar scent she had smelled in her dream had not been an illusion. She had really smelled it.

Looking around at the dark-red lava canyons stretching everywhere before her, smelling the scorching heat and sulfur drifting through the air, and carefully sensing the poisonous gas that made her want to vomit as well as that familiar air that seemed to choke her immediately, Annie suddenly recalled the Firelands and stretched lazily again.
Because she discovered that the Firelands she had occupied back then seemed a little similar to this place. Compared to it, though, the Firelands was naturally much hotter, while this place was stuffier, and the air seemed not to circulate very well.
