Well, no surprises there!
Under the outrageous antics of a certain troublesome little girl, Edgin, Simon, Doric, Holga, and the others had basically accomplished all their original goals: bringing down Forge, defeating the evil Red Wizard, and rescuing Edgin's daughter, Kira. They'd weathered a series of twists and turns along the way, but in the end, their plans had gone almost perfectly.
The only slight regret was that they hadn't managed to achieve their most, most, most, most, most important goal: stealing Forge's enormous treasure!
The treasure, which had filled an entire ship, had all been recovered by the dragon-riding Paladin Xenk Yendar and escorted back to Neverwinter. There was no chance of getting their hands on it now.
Still, the four of them had won plenty of treasure and honors as victors of the High Sun Games.
After all, the High Sun Games, which had been revived by Lord Forge after many years, had ended with the Red Wizard Sofina torn to pieces and Edgin's "Baldur's Gate" team, along with more than a dozen surviving contestants, emerging victorious. They were bound to receive rewards.
The competition and its prizes hadn't been their original goal, of course. But as a legendary contest people were willing to risk their lives to enter, it undoubtedly offered generous rewards. Otherwise, the contestants wouldn't have put their lives on the line.
