How Had Her Territory Gotten So "Big"?
When Edgin, Simon, Holga, and Doric were on their way to the tower prison in Icewind Dale, Revel's End, to question Neverwinter's former ruler, Forge, the Paladin responsible for managing the city's security and commanding the Neverwinter Guards to protect it, Hank Yendar, wasn't idle either.
Since around noon, he had been pacing back and forth in the castle's council chamber, his brows knitted the whole time. It seemed he had something important to report to a certain troublesome little girl.
Unfortunately, even as the sun began to sink in the west, the person he was waiting for still hadn't shown up.
"!!"
"The Queen's awake?"
At last, he saw several pretty young maids pass the corridor outside the council chamber, carrying silver trays, water, towels, and other things for washing up. Hank's spirits lifted. He hurried out to stop them and asked politely,
"Ah!"
"Lord Yendar?"
Seeing that the person who had suddenly appeared was none other than the upright and kind-hearted Paladin, Neverwinter's general, Hank Yendar, the maids gasped. Then, barely suppressing their excitement, they replied with delighted smiles,
"That's right!"
"The Queen is up."
"She just finished washing and bathing. She should be heading to the dining room to eat now."
"Lord Yendar, would you like us to let her know you're waiting here?"
The maid at the head of the group then asked eagerly, her eyes shining. She made no effort to hide her affection for Hank Yendar—or her inappropriate intentions.
"No need!"
"I'll go see her myself."
"You all get back to work."
Unfortunately, Hank had something on his mind and paid no attention to their scorching, practically predatory gazes and expressions. He merely nodded to the women before striding past them toward his destination.
"Oh, dear!"
