Unfortunately, Team Rocket still failed to capture Pikachu in the end.
They had even kept throwing those explosive fireworks down at the banquet from high above, causing chaos. But once Ash and the others had their hands free and sent out his Pidgeotto and Charizard, their fate was sealed.
Anyway!
Annie didn't even need to lift a finger. The two Team Rocket members and their Meowth were soon blasted by Ash's Charizard, which burst their hydrogen balloon. As the three of them were sent flying off into who-knows-where, that stupid electric mouse, Pikachu, was finally rescued once again.
That's right. Once again.
Apparently, Team Rocket had tried to steal Pikachu more than once. Unfortunately for them, they had never succeeded—but that didn't stop them from showing up again and again to make trouble.
Still, although Team Rocket hadn't managed to capture Pikachu, all the commotion and damage they caused forced the banquet to end early, abruptly and anticlimactically.
After that, apart from one troublesome little girl who had stuffed herself from the start and filled her belly ahead of time, everyone else—including Misty, Ash, and Brock—had to head home disappointed and hungry.
The next day.
Early in the morning, Misty dragged Annie out of bed, and then Annie was forced to go with the three of them to Professor Oak's laboratory.
The previous day's commotion and chaos, along with the incredibly spicy food, had left their Pokémon with minor injuries. Pidgeotto had also been hurt when Arbok's poisonous fangs struck it as it attacked Team Rocket's hydrogen balloon. So the previous night, they had asked Professor Oak to examine and treat the Pokémon with the equipment in his lab. Now that a whole night had passed, it was time to pick them up.
"Oh?"
"You're here so early?"
"Don't worry!"
