When Claire and Jean were intercepted and given a mission by their agent, Ruru, they had no choice but to agree and head north. They were preparing to take part in a mission to hunt down an Awakened and, along the way, search for the missing Laki. Meanwhile, Annie and her two little sidekicks were still wandering around the border towns not too far from the frigid northern lands.
Then they discovered—though they didn't know whether things really were as Claire had told them before they parted—that some Abyssal One in the north had started acting up, and demons across the world had become more active as a result.
Or perhaps the Organization, that evil group of Claymores, was plotting some new, sinister scheme?

When Annie and the others arrived in a small town called Sha'ang, they once again came across a demon lurking among the townsfolk, waiting to devour its prey. It had thrown what had once been a perfectly peaceful little town into chaos, leaving everyone on edge and terrified.
Naturally, in order to cause the Organization a little trouble—and, more importantly, enjoy a comfortable stay for a day or two—Ophelia went into action at Annie's behest.
So, while Elena was off doing something mysterious again, Ophelia patrolled the town and quickly found their target, with a certain troublesome little girl trailing behind, snacking as she watched, supervised, and cheered her on. The target was a pretty, charming young woman with smooth brown hair. Who knew whose wife she was?
But pretty as she was, and charming as she was, none of that could hide the fact that she had already eaten the intestines and brains of several people over the past half month—and was planning to keep eating.
Ophelia already had no love for
