Seaside Villa. In the living room of Annie's home, several people in beach casual wear were gathered. Aside from Coulson and Melinda, the rest were all members of the Avengers, including Thor, the God of Thunder who had recently returned to Earth from Asgard. He seemed to have chased a fugitive to Earth and then conveniently joined the Avengers.
Oh, no! The members here should be missing one guy named Hawkeye!
Apparently, that guy had been seduced away by an alien man named Loki not long ago... You read that right! He was seduced by a man, full of bromance!
Black Widow could testify! Because at the time, Hawkeye had turned on her and attacked her. She could never believe that her long-time partner Hawkeye would hit her for a man! Their friendship boat had been declared permanently sunk, with no chance of ever being salvaged!
That self-proclaimed evil god Loki came to Earth, not only stealing the Tesseract that Black Charcoal Head was researching but also killing, injuring, and abducting a bunch of people, including Hawkeye! And most of those people were the director's direct subordinates, all vetted by that ring!
This move dealt a critical blow to Director Nick Fury! It forced him to prematurely abandon his plan to clean out Hydra, which he had been preparing after assembling the Avengers team! The furious director had to halt that plan and instead focus on dealing with the evil god Loki, who was causing trouble on Earth.
That was also why Thor so readily joined the Avengers. You see, he came to Earth this time specifically to capture Loki! Of course, visiting his Earth girlfriend was also a must—maybe that was the main purpose?
Originally, Thor wasn't too confident, since he was alone and Loki wouldn't just sit still and wait to be caught! Just when he was at a loss, someone seemed to offer him a pillow just as he was feeling sleepy? A group of fools calling themselves S.H.I.E.L.D. actually invited him to join the Avengers!
This was great! After asking for details, Thor immediately agreed to join. In his view, they had plenty of people and considerable strength! That guy called Iron Man had fought him for quite a while! And that Captain America, who used a small shield as a weapon, wasn't bad either! Now, with such a strong group of lackeys to help him deal with Loki, it was perfect! Only a fool wouldn't join!
As for obligations after joining, Thor patted his chest and said it was no problem at all! But he had to make it clear first: once Loki was caught, he would be sent back to Asgard immediately. If S.H.I.E.L.D. needed him to fulfill certain thug duties, they would have to call him! Oh, right! There was no phone signal between Earth and Asgard!
Then they would have to wait until Earth developed interstellar communication technology. Anyway, Thor still had a few thousand years to live, so he could wait! As for whether S.H.I.E.L.D. would still exist in a few thousand years, that wasn't his concern.
In the living room, Thor held his Mjolnir, frowning as he stared at Annie. He didn't yet know Annie's true identity, so he found it somewhat unbelievable! Because he discovered that the power contained within this little girl was in no way inferior to his father's!
This was absurd!
Since when did Earth have such a powerful native mage? If he remembered correctly, the last time he came to Earth, humans had just learned to make fire by rubbing sticks, right? How, in the blink of an eye, had they reached this level? Were short-lived races really this impressive at climbing the tech tree?
And most importantly: this little girl was so young! By Earth's reckoning, she was only eight years old, right? An eight-year-old demigod-level powerhouse? What a joke! What would she be like when she grew up?!
Thor felt that maybe, after returning, he should have his father reassess their attitude toward Earth!
"Ha! You're Annie?! The little girl who chased me in a red Quinjet and wouldn't let up?"
Tony Stark also stared at Annie along with Thor, which brought back some bad memories. This was the culprit who had made him so miserable! Although he wouldn't go so far as to argue with a little girl, now that he had finally run into her, Tony planned to grab her rosy cheeks and twist them a few times to let off some steam!
"You're Tony, right? I'm very interested in your research. Come on, let's have a good chat!"
The Hulk—oh! Now he should be called Bruce Banner! He kindly stepped forward to stop Tony, grabbing his shoulder to prevent him from trying to bully Annie.
"I advise you not to do that. Even I'm afraid when she gets serious!" Bruce leaned close to Tony's ear and whispered a reminder.
Under Coulson's introduction, the Avengers members exchanged a few words, nodded, and considered themselves acquainted. At this point, the Avengers could finally be said to have been officially formed in this small villa. If this house still existed countless years later, it might even be turned into a museum, with some profiteers charging a hefty admission fee?
Watching Black Widow, who was staring at Annie's toy bear, and Tony, who wanted to take it apart for research, Thor curled his lips in disdain! Foolish Earthlings. After more than two thousand years, they still couldn't see the essence of things.
Thor naturally knew that a powerful shadow creature was sealed inside that toy bear, but he was confident his Mjolnir could handle it! Compared to that bear, the little girl named Annie was probably the one worth paying more attention to!
"Hello, Annie! I'm Thor, from Asgard. It's a pleasure to meet you, powerful mage!"
Thor walked up to Annie, clenched his right fist, pressed it to his chest, and solemnly bowed to her. A strong person, especially a powerful mage, was fully worthy of the respect of Asgard's prince!
"Ah? Oh! I'm glad to meet you too!"
Annie was startled! Although she didn't know why this strange uncle was acting like this, she politely returned a standard curtsy.
"Alright, gentlemen and ladies!" Coulson clapped his hands to draw everyone's attention.
"You all know why I gathered you here today. There's a guy named Loki who stole the Tesseract and plans to carry out some scheme. So, I hope everyone will stay alert and be ready to act at a moment's notice!"
"Here, let me remind you! Loki intends to use the Space Stone to open a space portal and let his army invade Earth!" Thor was quite familiar with Loki's goal, which was exactly why he had come to Earth.
"Wait! Space Stone? What's that?" Coulson was puzzled by the term.
"Space Stone is what we call it in Asgard! It seems you call it the Tesseract? Anyway, it's just a different name! They're actually the same thing! It possesses spatial power and nearly infinite energy, and its main use is to open space portals!" Thor said casually.
Space Stone? Tesseract? Infinite energy? Main use is to open space portals?!
Hearing this, Annie's eyes lit up immediately. It sounded pretty impressive! She wondered if it could open a portal back to Valoran? If so, she absolutely had to get her hands on it! Annie silently made a decision in her heart.
"Is that so? Then, where is this Loki?" Since the Space Stone was in the hands of that bad guy Loki, all she had to do was find him and take it! That was Annie's plan—she was very good at stealing things! Find him, let the bear beat him up! Then take his stuff!
"That's exactly what we want to know! For now, we can only wait for him to show himself!" Coulson said helplessly, because S.H.I.E.L.D. had yet to find any trace of him.
"Hey, folks! So what are we doing here? Waiting for a party? If there's nothing to do, I'm heading back!" Tony, unwilling to waste time here, shouted loudly.
Since the enemy hadn't appeared, what was the point of waiting around? In Tony's view, instead of wasting time here, he might as well go back and roll in the sheets with some pretty girls! As for that evil god Loki who seduced men? They could deal with him when he showed up! After all, his Iron Man Suit had been optimized several times and flew really fast—he could still make it in time.
"Right, I'm leaving too! I have a date later! If you find him, remember to notify me!" Seeing Tony leave, Thor followed him out! He really missed his girlfriend Jane Foster, whom he had met last time he came to Earth looking for his hammer! Since someone was now helping him find Loki for free, there was no need for him to stay. He was increasingly impressed with his decision to join the Avengers—he could chase girls and find people at the same time! It was absolutely perfect!
"Alright, I have nowhere to go anyway, so I'll stay here for now." Bruce didn't dare to leave, because he had just seen the expectant look in Annie's eyes! The little girl seemed to enjoy company and hoped he would stay, but... what was the meaning of that bear in her hand?
Since he couldn't leave, he had to stay. He had a feeling that if he really tried to go, something bad would happen. So, against his will, he stayed. After all, the food and lodging were free, and the environment was nice, so why not stay? It would allow him to avoid work and focus on practicing how to control his anger—yes, that was it!
