Three days later.
At the headquarters of the Anywhere Door Express Company in Beijing, Xu Si, Zhang Chulan, and Feng Baobao were relaxing in an empty guest reception room.
Xu Si was puffing away nearby, his eyes a little unfocused. It was hard to tell what he was thinking about. Feng Baobao, meanwhile, was curled up on a guest sofa, munching on her fries and drinking soda.
She was dressed in men's clothes and trousers, and her hair looked like a complete mess. She even had one leg propped up and occasionally reached down to pick at her toes. She was slovenly and sprawled about like a hooligan or bandit, looking even less like a girl.
As for Zhang Chulan, he was sitting at the other end of the sofa. After Xu Si gave him a meaningful look, he slowly stood up and dialed a number on his phone.
Beep—!
Beep—! Beep—!
The phone rang only three times before someone on the other end picked up.
"Hello?"
"Annie?"
"Mm, it's me, Zhang Chulan."
After giving Xu Si an OK sign, Zhang Chulan hurriedly smiled, pressed the phone to his ear, and started chatting.
"Where am I?"
"Where else would I be? At the company headquarters."
"Yeah, nothing much. Just the review and debriefing and all that. It's a real hassle..."
"Of course!"
"Yeah, those people from Biyou Village, the Twelve Roots, are all here too."
"Right, that's right."
"Sis Fu Rong's fine now. She passed the review."
"It's a lie detector chair that uses supernatural abilities to distinguish truth from lies. Baobao, I, and everyone else have been questioned. Sis Fu Rong and Zhuge Qing too."
"But luckily, they all passed. They should be able to leave in a while. Maybe we'll all head back together then?"
"Mm-hmm, I know.
