The next day, Xu San and the Nashen Guard Erica Joaquina wandered around downtown Z City with the Nashen Queen. She'd received some basic treatment, but her face was still bruised and swollen.
Strictly speaking, though, they weren't the ones showing her around. Annie, their landlord and host, was taking the ruler of Nashen Island—who had barely ever left the island—on a food-filled tour of Z City.
Anyway, Xu San found the day rather surprising.
He'd only just realized that, when it came to food, drink, and entertainment, he knew less about the city than Annie, a kid who'd been here for less than half a year. And he'd been born and raised in Z City, where he'd lived for at least twenty years!
Never mind the rest. Every little stall and shop Annie had taken them to that morning had served food that even he, a local, thought was exceptional. The Nashen Queen, who'd hardly seen much of the world and was eating as though she wanted to swallow her tongue, was even more impressed.
Of course, she wasn't the Nashen King right now. She'd taken the alias "Wang Shenna." Read backward, it still more or less meant the same thing, so it wasn't much use as a disguise. But she didn't have to meet many outsiders, and this would only last two days, so Xu San let it go and didn't interfere.
It wouldn't have helped anyway. She clearly wouldn't listen to him. Instead of wasting his energy trying, he might as well keep a close eye on her and get through the next two days as safely as possible.
Besides, he was more worried about Bao'er's situation now. He had no idea whether she was doing all right pretending to be the Nashen King, or what was
