For several days afterward, perhaps out of indignation or perhaps for some other reason, Allie didn't go to see Loken again. Loken, for his part, didn't pay it much mind.

After all, from Loken's perspective, the leader of a mere rebel group had questioned his loyalty to the Imperium, the Emperor of Mankind, and the Warmaster, then tried to slander the Warmaster and drive a wedge between them. If the woman's identity and existence hadn't been so important to them, he would have taken a Chainsword to her long ago. Why else would he have indulged her for so many years?

So, seeing that Allie seemed to have given up on her ridiculous scheme to sow discord and had stopped coming to see him, Loken was only too happy to enjoy the peace and quiet. He turned his attention to more important matters instead.

He really had been quite busy lately. The Legion was swamped with all sorts of miscellaneous matters, one troublesome issue after another, and there were growing divisions and disagreements between the old and new Astartes that needed his attention. He truly didn't have much time to play those silly little games of rebellion and discord with that woman.

Besides, judging by the current size of the Imperium and its star charts, Loken could tell without giving it much thought that the Great Crusade might be over in just a few years.

Most of humanity's traditional colony worlds had already been reclaimed or destroyed. Many Xenos who had invaded Imperial systems and territories had been driven out or simply slaughtered to the last. The Emperor of Mankind had returned to Terra years ago and made all sorts of arrangements, so the Great Crusade really couldn't have many years left.
