The weather was lovely today. Afternoon sunlight slanted into the hotel restaurant, golden patches of light and soft shadows weaving together to create an atmosphere so lazy it could almost make people doze off. Sure enough, the waiters who had stolen a moment to sit down or were quietly chatting kept yawning one after another.
Only when they saw a guest come in did they hurry to their feet and rush back to their stations.
And the person who had come into the restaurant was none other than Annie Bonny!
Unlike the waiters, though, she seemed exceptionally lively.
That was because she had only just gotten up. And she hadn't just woken from a nap—she'd slept from last night until the afternoon of the next day, only dragging herself out of bed when her stomach started rumbling. So no matter how drowsy everyone else was, and no matter how soporific the atmosphere, she was still the most alert person there!
It was getting late, though. Judging by the sunlight beginning to slant westward, it must have already crept past three or four in the afternoon.
Breakfast was definitely out of the question at this hour. Lunch seemed to be over, while it was still too early for dinner. Coming to the restaurant now was undeniably awkward.
But Annie couldn't care less. She did whatever she wanted and ate whenever she wanted. Other people's stares meant nothing to her!
And besides...
She'd always felt that no matter the situation, as long as she herself wasn't embarrassed, then the only one who could be embarrassed was everyone else.
Anyway!
Since she'd called the front desk before coming down, the waiters—despite the deeply inconvenient timing—quickly headed to the kitchen when they saw her come in and sit down. They brought her a whole
