The weather wasn't very good tonight. The sky was gloomy, the moon completely hidden, and thick, oppressive clouds made it look as if a heavy rainstorm was on its way.
So, for once, Annie didn't go out wandering or hunting tonight. She didn't go clear out the monsters near the military exclusion zone and add to her midnight snack, either. Instead, she cozied up in the living room with her personal secretary, Ronan, watching TV and eating some fruit after dinner.
After all, Annie liked nothing more than eating, drinking, having fun, and enjoying the very best of everything. And since she'd had her fill at dinner, was feeling quite satisfied, and had fresh fruit and a considerate young lady waiting on her, it wasn't all that strange for her to stay home once in a while instead of going out to run wild.
Of course, Annie would never admit that there was another reason: she'd more or less already picked clean the hills and forests nearby. She'd either gotten tired of the tasty animals and birds there, or it had become hard to catch anything worthwhile—that is, something with plenty of meat and an interesting flavor.
