On the morning of September 1, Annie arrived at King's Cross Station right on time, with her Little Bear in tow.
Everything went smoothly. She knew the way by now, and strode straight through the wall between Platforms Nine and Ten to the bustling Platform Nine and Three-Quarters. There, she saw Hogwarts students and their parents, the students dragging their heavy suitcases along behind them.
But Annie was different. She had already put her luggage in her pocket, so she didn't need to drag around an awkward, cumbersome suitcase like everyone else.
Before long, with no luggage to slow her down and only her Little Bear in her arms, she found a compartment with a decent amount of space, pushed the door open, and asked:
"Hello!"

"Is this seat taken?"

Annie saw that there was only one girl inside, with unruly hair, who was busy arranging her belongings with her head bowed.
"Of course!"
"There's room..."
When the girl looked up, Annie recognized her: a sweet-looking girl with somewhat prominent front teeth, which she'd taken very good care of—Hermione!
That was right!
Annie was very familiar with this girl. Who else could she be but Hermione, one of Annie's students who hadn't been all that bad?
As for whether Annie had come to this compartment on purpose, only the Little Bear in her arms, Tibbers, knew.

After getting a good look at Annie and realizing she was only seven or eight years old—nowhere near the required age of eleven—the girl asked her, just like most of the students who'd been sneaking curious glances at Annie along the way:
"Um..."
"Are you a first-year too?"
