Although Hermione felt somewhat uneasy and regretful that they had failed to invite Annie and had also been unable to find Tibbers, the arrow was already nocked and had to be fired. Thus, Hermione, Ron, and Harry ultimately followed their original plan. After returning to Gryffindor's common room, they stayed in a corner, playing Wizard's Chess and reading books.
They were waiting for the common room to empty, waiting for the right opportunity to leave.
However, since the exams were over and students from all years no longer had classes, everyone was merely waiting for the exam results to be announced a week later and for the holidays to begin. As a result, the common room remained lively for quite some time, with many students playing and fooling around there.
After all, although there were no more classes and everyone could happily go out and play for the next several days, once night came and it was time for bed, the castle still enforced a strict curfew. Students were not allowed to move about the castle freely, so aside from their respective common rooms, they truly had nowhere else to go.
Especially with the end of term approaching, houses that had any hope of winning the House Cup were even less willing to let their students run wild. If they were caught by Filch or another professor and lost points, causing their house to miss out on crucial points, the consequences would be quite serious.

Gryffindor's score was currently at the very bottom. They had lost a tremendous number of points over the entire term, especially because of Ron and Harry.
Normally, losing points was no big deal, and nobody minded. But as the end of
