゜(`)Bride-in-Red Ghost vs. Little Red-Dressed Ghost (8)
Not long after the useless uncle was carried away by that eerie, horrifying procession of paper figures, the hall where Annie and the others were standing quickly grew dim and dilapidated. It was as though several hundred years had passed in an instant, or as though the backdrop had suddenly been swapped out, returning it to the same desolate, run-down state Annie had seen when she first entered.
Then, outside the ruined, gloomy hall, several floating lanterns suddenly appeared, each bearing the character "囍." They drifted eerily in the weed- and shrub-filled courtyard outside the hall, as if waiting for something.

"Everyone, hurry up and leave!"
"If the lanterns go out..."
"People will die!"
As he spoke, he grabbed one of the floating lanterns outside, the one marked with "囍" and giving off a pale, ghostly glow that looked more like some kind of corpse-fire than an ordinary flame. Then he turned and walked toward the corridor outside.
He went in the opposite direction from the one the useless Wu had been taken in, clearly never even considering the possibility of going to rescue him.
