After she'd settled on a plan and decided what to do, Annie didn't rush to act. Instead, she continued strolling forward as if nothing were wrong.
The lights in the thirty-third-floor corridor still flickered on and off, as weak and labored as the breaths of a dying person. It was hard to tell whether the problem lay with the wiring, the voltage, or something else.
Whatever the cause, Annie didn't bother with it. She simply kept strolling along, a faint, teasing smile on her face.

At last, after walking for a while longer, Annie stopped. Her little red shoes tapped impatiently against the carpet.
She'd just realized this was the seventh time she'd passed the same fire hose cabinet... Meanwhile, the room number "3307" beside it glowed an eerie blood-red under the dim yellow lights, as if trying to scare someone.
"What a pain!"

Annie let out an impatient sigh.
By now, she could smell the moldy stench of decay hanging in the air. It seemed to seep from deep within the walls, and she'd smelled it in plenty of places before.
She also knew it wasn't actually the smell of the supernatural itself. It was simply the result of energy from another dimension corroding the real world, causing certain materials in the Realspace to decay faster and release that foul odor. That was why ordinary people could sometimes use the strange smell to tell whether danger or something supernatural was nearby.
But Annie didn't need to figure that out!
Danger or no danger, supernatural presence or none, she didn't care either way!
Ahead, the emergency exit sign at the end of the corridor flickered with an ominous green light. The elevator should have been just around the corner, yet she'd already walked around in
