Anyway, over the next few days, Annie only knew that the way Ming Wan'er looked at her had changed. Her gaze was no longer as foolish, as blank, or as guileless as before.

A lot more people from the Filth Control Bureau suddenly showed up at that eerie hotel. They were very friendly, going out of their way to flatter Annie and grant her every request. They were even a little too obsequious, finding all sorts of ways to bring her delicious food and the like.
Annie could guess why, and she knew what those people wanted, but she made no comment.
She simply enjoyed the delicious food and various services they provided, then spent the next dozen or so days giving pointers to the Bureau's Spirit-Pattern Guard, a team formed under Ming Wan'er's leadership. After watching them successfully train several generations of Ghost Binders, she suddenly left that world, where the supernatural had run rampant, one night.
Though it was a little abrupt, Annie didn't think there was anything wrong with that.
After all, she'd played with those weird supernatural creatures for long enough. She'd also left behind spirit patterns, adapted and refined from Spirit Binding and Spirit Dispatch, so the people of that world could finally fight the creatures and coexist with them.
If they still couldn't survive in the world that would emerge when the coming "supernatural Warp" fully merged with the "physical universe," bringing about a true supernatural resurgence, then Annie figured they might as well be wiped out completely!
Of course, Annie thought there probably wouldn't be much of a problem in the end.
