Just half a day after the Lighthouse had suffered heavy casualties and losses, losing many people, functional areas, and suspension cages due to the rebellion of a former Hunter Commander, its alarms rang out again.
This time, however, the alarm wasn't sounding throughout the entire Lighthouse. It was confined to just one area of the Upper City.
Even so, it added a fresh sense of foreboding and gloom to the Lighthouse, which had only just returned to calm.

The alarm continued to blare, shaking the already cold, mournful air of the Upper City. Red warning lights spun and flashed across the ceilings of the metal corridors, casting the figures rushing back and forth into twisted shapes.
"Whew—!"

Soon after the already panicked Upper Citizens had run past and hidden in various cabins, a group of soldiers in black standard-issue uniforms, fully armed, came rushing after them like a pack of hounds driven mad.
But someone was already racing ahead of them: a little girl in a red dress. Her pretty, vivid red dress stood out starkly in the Lighthouse's dim, icy corridors!
Even more striking was that she wore no identity badge at all—not on her chest, waist, or arms. She had none of the badges that symbolized a person's status and standing!
Everyone knew that in the Lighthouse, this harsh place, not wearing an identity badge was a serious crime!
So it wasn't hard to understand why soldiers were pursuing the little girl in such a fury, whether she was an Upper Citizen or a Dustfolk.
But that wasn't important!
What mattered was that the little girl was still darting through the narrow and wide corridors of the Upper City, running this way and that.
At that moment,
