A Hundred Eunuchs Stir Up Trouble on Mount Hua (Part Two)
The setting sun cast a gauzy glow over the old-fashioned little town at the foot of Mount Hua. The shoddy bluestone slabs and cobbled paths gleamed softly in the fading light, while plenty of hurried passersby in tattered cloth shoes or straw sandals tramped over stones that had baked in the sun all day.
They were naturally either villagers from nearby or traveling merchants. After all, autumn had arrived, and night fell early. If they didn't head home soon, it could cause trouble.
Unlike the ordinary folk hurrying along outside, the dining hall of the town's only inn was filled with the aroma of food and the faint smell of alcohol.
At this hour, the place would usually have been bustling with people and chatter. But now, because of a group of unusual swordsmen, a faintly oppressive gloom hung over the room.
That was right!
There were a lot of people here today—at least thirty or fifty—and every last one was a swordsman!

Annie didn't care in the slightest!
She sat boldly in a corner of the inn's dining hall. Several exquisite dishes and a steaming bowl of rice were spread across the table. She reached out with her small, jade-white hand, picked up her chopsticks, and lifted a crisp, tender bean sprout to her little cherry lips, chewing and savoring it at an unhurried pace.

After eating for a while, she picked up her bowl and sipped her soup. Even when a little trickled from the corner of her mouth, she calmly wiped it away with her sleeve, paying no mind to the fact that she was staining her seemingly expensive brocade jacket, embroidered with cloud patterns at the collar and cuffs.
