Annie, Frieren, and Fern said goodbye to the dwarf Eisen early the next morning.

Though Frieren had once again invited Eisen to join their party and reiterated how comfortable the carriage was, the dwarf had ultimately declined, citing his old age and lack of desire to travel.

The old dwarf had good sense. Knowing there were only three rooms in the carriage, he naturally didn't want to intrude as an old man on the world of three girls: Frieren, Fern, and Annie.

After saying goodbye to Eisen, the luxurious carriage continued racing smoothly along the country roads for three days, pulled by three fine horses.

Even when they occasionally rolled over a pothole or a rock, the carriage barely jolted. It charged ahead at a fairly high speed, leaving many merchants traveling in either direction along the way astonished.

After all, people rarely saw a carriage speeding along without a driver, pulled by horses left to their own devices. It was a very dangerous thing to do.

Though they were surprised, nobody ever felt inclined to meddle. Especially since the carriage looked so luxurious, so obviously owned by someone rich and powerful, and so clearly beyond the means of an ordinary family. In that situation, even fewer people wanted to get involved.

Fern was reading the copy she'd made of Hogwarts' Complete Collection of Magic Spells. She seemed intent on becoming more familiar with the various spells and their different uses.
