After leaving Lin Manor, still shrouded in a gloomy air, Annie flickered a few times and quietly appeared on one of the busiest streets in Yangzhou.
Then she discovered that Yangzhou in this celestial world was completely different from the Yangzhou cities she had visited in several other worlds!
For one thing, it was at least dozens of times larger than those other cities. It was also far more prosperous, with taller, more imposing, and more magnificent city walls and buildings. There were even faint traces of supernatural, immortal elements everywhere, such as the occasional flying immortal boats in the sky and the so-called "immortals" who cultivated and flew on swords.
Of course, those weren't really immortals. At best, they were cultivators. Still, among them were some who rode immortal beasts, cranes, and all sorts of other strange conveyances. They were supposedly immortals appointed to official posts by the Heavenly Court.

Unfortunately, Annie wasn't interested in any of that. True gods and cultivators were all the same to her, so she simply went wandering around the city on her own.
Although she loved to have fun, she knew she had just arrived and shouldn't make too much of a spectacle. So she found an empty spot and quietly transformed her out-of-place red-and-white dress into an exquisitely made palace gown. It was still distinctive, with its red and white colors and dark golden flame-cloud patterns embroidered along the hem and cuffs, and faint ripples of light shimmering across it as she moved, but at least it didn't stand out quite as much.
"Huh?"

"That looks like a restaurant or inn over there?"

Before long, as she strolled along, her gaze shifted and she soon followed the delicious aroma to a huge inn built beside the river.
