In the southeastern corner of Chaos Town stood a six-story concrete building that might once have been a hotel or apartment block. It could be called the town's original tallest building, but now it was nothing more than a shell riddled with holes.
Like this "Blue Star" and the human colonists who had once lived here, it had long since been ravaged beyond recognition by the Warp, demons, Chaos Gods, and Chaos.
Anyone outside would have easily noticed that its exterior walls had long been blackened gray by artillery fire and who knew what else. Huge sections of the walls had peeled away, exposing twisted rebar and shattered bricks within. The glass in every window had vanished long ago; even the frames had rotted away, leaving only rusted rectangular openings like empty eye sockets.
Even half the roof's eaves had collapsed, and the plaster atop the building had fallen away. Several snapped rebars jutted from the caved-in beams, looking exactly like broken bones piercing through flesh.
In this town that had been polluted by the evils of Chaos and the Warp for who knew how many years, it stood alongside the surrounding buildings—equally ruined, leaning, or riddled with holes—still stubbornly and resolutely keeping watch beneath the grayish-purple sky, like a group of Wardens refusing to fall.
Fortunately, the building's construction quality was decent!
Though it had probably gone at least decades without maintenance, it still showed no sign of collapsing. It could probably hold up for another hundred years or so without much trouble?

Perhaps the more important reason was that this place lay in a dry wasteland, where rainfall was scarce and the humidity extremely low. With less wind and rain erosion, it naturally could endure a little longer.
At that moment, the Chaos scum, natives, and
