Three days after the announcement was issued, the first batch of one hundred-player "Mercenary" Company was quickly recruited. That same day, they were gathered in a plaza within the camp, after which two veteran sergeants from the camp took charge of managing and training them as instructors.
After all, players were still just players—a group of undisciplined, unorganized recruits-to-be. An army needed discipline, so the camp could not possibly hand out equipment without putting them through training first.
And that training lasted a full ten days!
At first, the players were fairly well-behaved. After all, free meals and equipment, plus a daily wage of one hundred contribution points, was a pretty sweet deal. Jobs like that were hard to come by, so naturally, they did not dare act up too easily and obediently accepted the instructors' reorganization and training.
