Then, beneath their utterly stunned and disbelieving expressions and gazes, Prince's new city lord—a spearman officer—described how Annie and Lania had descended from the heavens the previous day, how they had used magic to burn to death the demons and monsters occupying the city, and how they had rescued everyone.
Then they learned that yesterday afternoon, before they had even reached Mihan City, the powerful Mage Annie and Lady Knight Lania had already arranged matters in Prince and set off once more for Teriya to the north.
After resting briefly in Prince, those scout cavalrymen had no choice but to split up again. One scout returned to Karyad City to report the situation to General Christian, while the remaining five continued on their way, intending to return to Mihan City by the same route and then pass through it on their way to Teriya to investigate.
After all, they were cavalry scouts. With matters having developed to this point, although they still found it hard to believe, continuing to Teriya to seek out Mage Annie and assess the situation was naturally their duty—and a duty they had to fulfill.
