Rumble~!
A low peal of thunder sounded on the horizon.
They said the weather in the mountains could change in an instant, especially at the turn of summer and autumn...
Sure enough, just a moment earlier, when little Annie, Bulma, and Sun Wukong—the bodyguard the self-proclaimed genius Miss Bulma had coaxed into coming along—had driven away from the little house hidden in the mountains, the sky had been perfectly clear. But before they had gone far, dark clouds rolled across that sunny sky, and large raindrops soon began pattering down.
Mountain downpours came without warning...
Then both Miss Bulma at the wheel and little Annie in the passenger seat soon discovered, to their dismay, that the view through the windshield was gradually blurring... No matter how hard the wipers worked to sweep away the water spreading over the glass, their struggle was futile and did little to help.
Even worse was the mountain trail, which had already been rugged, uneven, and difficult to travel!
Once the rain flooded it, the dirt road quickly turned into an impassable mire. The off-road vehicle, which had not dared go very fast to begin with, now struggled through mud and puddles at barely walking speed.
"Ugh!"
"Little Annie, if I'd known this would happen, I would've listened to you and stayed at Sun Wukong's place for the afternoon and night before setting out..."
Seeing the road ahead awash with rainwater, to the point where she could barely make it out, Miss Bulma reluctantly abandoned her original plan to make good time and hurry toward the next detected Dragon Ball. Instead, she obediently pulled over somewhere reasonably broad and level, switched off the engine, and prepared to wait out the downpour in the car, hoping the sky would clear or the rain would ease soon.
