Early the next morning?

It was rush hour, but in the president's office at Kack Media, Kate Grant was glaring furiously at a subordinate with a capricious, brazen personality. The woman had her legs crossed, was chewing gum, and looked at Kate without a shred of respect.

Before she'd left home that morning, Kate had discovered that her good child, Carter, had stayed up all night doing who knew what instead of getting any rest. She'd already been furious, but then, while she was still fuming, she'd had to deal with this undisciplined subordinate and figure out how to contain the fallout from some of the woman's "good work."

The headache she hadn't suffered from in a long time was beginning to stir again, making her already terrible mood even worse...
