In the blink of an eye, a yellow-green blade traced a dazzling arc of light as it swept from behind toward the back of the neck of the mage who was crouched on the ground, casting some kind of evil spell. It was practically a sneak attack!
Without a moment's hesitation or the slightest sympathy, swift and deadly!
The strangely shaped greatsword with its twin rings, and its master, were both unshakably resolute in blade, body, and will. They were always ready to drink their fill of enemy blood, and to watch their loathsome foes' heads roll to the ground...
So,
When a swordsman finally appeared between light and shadow beside the great tree where a corpse lay, he was already done with his attack. Wearing golden-yellow leather armor and a strange helmet with what looked like an odd seven-eyed visor attached, he held aloft a long, grass-green, double-ringed sword. The Warglaive in his hands had already swept across the evil mage's neck!
And yet...
He had barely started to relax when he quickly snapped back into a guarded stance.
He had noticed something was wrong, too...
Just now, his blade didn't seem to have felt that slight resistance that came from cutting through flesh and bone. There was something strange about the enemy he'd just attacked. Had it been nothing but an intangible shadow?!

Just as he thought...
Turning around, the swordsman saw through his special goggles that beneath the great tree, there was no sign of the evil mage who'd been casting a spell just moments ago. The only one there was the victim who had been turned into a mummy by the enemy's evil spell.
Clearly, his supposedly foolproof, deadly sneak attack had actually missed?!
To him, that was simply inconceivable...
