Whoosh!
Seriously, happiness had come far too suddenly...
Even though it was already early November of C.E. 71, Patrick Zala, chairman of the Supreme Council and head of the Defense Committee, still found it almost unbelievable that their PLANT and ZAFT forces had defeated the Earth Alliance and won the war!
Of course, he knew that it was all thanks to Annie Hastur, the little phoenix of PLANT. She truly deserved her reputation; through her own efforts, she had brought their PLANT good fortune and victory...
Without her, the fate of PLANT and all of them would have been in real danger.
Fortunately, Patrick Zala had recognized her worth. He hadn't made an issue of her sneaking into ZAFT to "play." Otherwise, how could he be standing here in peace atop the ZAFT headquarters building, gazing out the window at the colony's beautiful scenery?
But there were no ifs in this world!
The result was that Patrick Zala had made the right choice, and so he had won the final victory. It really was that simple! Meanwhile, Siegel Clyne and the people in his faction, who had always opposed Patrick's politics and constantly proclaimed that they stood for peace, had been mercilessly nailed to history's pillar of shame. They would be cursed for generations and leave a disgraceful page in the history books!
And the facts had already proved it: those who wanted peace had kept disrupting the world's peace, while he, who had always wanted war, had ultimately secured precious peace and the fruits of victory!
"Sigh..."
It was a pity. If only his Lenore Zala could be by his side, and his son Athrun Zala hadn't gone astray back then. How wonderful that would have been.
What a pity...
Still, his revenge wasn't over... He wouldn't spare
