High above the summit of Cloud Peak on Green Screen Mountain, a hundred meters or so in the open sky, a dazzling firework burst in broad daylight. The disciples of Cloud Peak weren't the only ones who saw it; the people in Chentang Pass and the nearby towns and villages saw it from afar, too...
But aside from Cloud Peak's disciples and a handful of people who had some connection to them for one reason or another, like Li Jing and Lady Yin, hardly anyone knew what the firework was signaling. That included little Annie, one of the people involved, and the Twelve Golden Immortals of Kunlun.
The Kunlun cultivators who had come looking for trouble had noticed the squirrel spirit and the chubby little squirrel beside them. Still, they clearly hadn't expected the pair to make such a fuss and suddenly launch some strange thing into the sky, where it burst with a tremendous bang before anyone could react.
