The moon was round and bright in the sky. Its clear light slanted down from the corridors, illuminating this side of Hogwarts Castle until it was as bright as day. Even the candles and bonfires in the hallways seemed dimmer by comparison.
As usual, there were hardly any students wandering and joking around in the corridors. Even the occasional one or two hurried past, coming and going in a rush.
That was only natural. Ever since the Second Task of the Triwizard Tournament, most of the students' entertainment had centered around the Great Hall. Apart from a handful who needed to go to the library or catch up on homework in their house common rooms, most students had already headed there during this time of night, after dinner and before bed, when they weren't supposed to be out and about. Very few remained in the castle corridors.

Little Annie hadn't gone to the Great Hall tonight. She'd already watched the same show for several days: three guys using magic to fight the Undead at Corin's Crossing.
