Hearing the system prompt, Chen Feng was taken aback. He hadn't prepared at all to enter an Elite World—his original plan was to run through a Normal Grade World two or three more times before stepping up. He never expected that an Underworld Emissary's twist of fate would send him in early.
The system must have realized the difficulty spike after the world upgrade, since it provided all Reincarnators with Baqi City's location.
Chen Feng silently recited Baqi City's coordinates in his mind. The prompt that appeared pointed behind him—he'd been running completely the wrong way. Just as he turned around, a figure emerged in the distance.
It was a humanoid creature, bare-chested, wearing a leather skirt, with fangs jutting from its mouth. It carried a bone club in one hand and a bundle on its back, sprinting fast toward the depths of the mountains.
An Orc? Chen Feng recognized the monster instantly.
Curious about what this Orc was up to, Chen Feng decided to follow and see.
The Orc ran while scanning its surroundings to confirm its bearings, completely unaware of Chen Feng trailing far behind.
Following along, Chen Feng turned a corner and suddenly lost sight of the Orc. On a nearby cliff face, a cave entrance came into view.
As Chen Feng approached the cave, debating whether to enter, roars echoed from within. Then the Orc with the bundle emerged, followed by a dozen clearly aged Orcs.
The Orcs spotted Chen Feng as they came out. The lead one froze, then let out an excited roar, raising its bone club to smash down at him.
Facing the charging Orc, Chen Feng held nothing back. He struck the creature's chest with a single palm, sending it flying.
The airborne Orc was dead before it hit the ground. When it crashed, its bundle burst open, scattering a mess of odds and ends everywhere.
The elderly Orcs behind it showed no fear. They roared together and charged at Chen Feng. One with skin different from the others led the pack.
His skin was cyan. Though ancient and decrepit, his speed was no slower than the young Orc with the bone club.
An Orc Warrior—not something an ordinary Orc could match. Even aged, Chen Feng didn't let his guard down after one-shotting the first.
He used Lingbo Weibu to circle behind the old Orc, slammed a heavy palm into the back of its skull, then didn't pause. He plunged into the crowd of a dozen elderly Orcs, sending them all flying with one palm each.
After finishing them off, Chen Feng caught his breath and walked to the first Orc. Its bundle's contents lay scattered: candles, a few gold coins, a gold necklace, plus meat cuts and fruit.
"Did it drop?" Chen Feng picked up the coins, necklace, and two potion bottles. He shook out the Orc's bundle, bundled it back up, and slung it over his shoulder. Glancing at the other Orcs that dropped nothing, he muttered "Broke bastards" and headed toward Baqi City.
The cave behind him, Chen Feng guessed, was the Orc Tomb—also known as the Skeleton Cave. Like an elephant graveyard, Orcs entered it to await death when their time was near.
This time, the Orc Commander had summoned all Orcs to war, naturally not forgetting these veterans. Though old and frail, they could still serve as cannon fodder.
What Chen Feng didn't know was that these Orcs coming to the Skeleton Cave to die wouldn't drop anything—they'd already left their belongings to their kin.
The young Orc's bundle had been snatched from some unlucky bastard it ran into on the way.
With Baqi City's exact bearings, Chen Feng rushed there at full speed. In less than a day, the majestic walls of Baqi City appeared before him.
He arrived at the northwest gate. Only two Archers guarded the entrance—no sign of any Blade Guards.
Makes sense. If Blade Guards were here, no number of Orcs would be enough for them to kill.
No sooner had he stepped through the gate than a crowd surrounded him.
"Hey, you. Show your ID." The leader wore a blue sleeveless short armor, with rattan plates protecting his chest and abdomen, and matching leg guards. He stood out starkly against the crowd in white cloth robes.
Light Armor. Chen Feng gave the man's gear a second look. Everyone had been in this world less than a day, yet this guy was already wearing Light Armor. Either he was incredibly lucky, or he'd owned it before entering.
Nikalim caught Chen Feng's gaze and felt a surge of satisfaction. His luck had been stellar—he'd spawned near Baqi City and happened to rescue a merchant attacked by Orcs.
To thank him, the merchant gifted him the family heirloom Light Armor. When Nikalim mentioned looking for the Baqi Mine, the merchant even gave him a simple map.
None of that mattered now. The Orc Army was about to besiege the city. If they couldn't survive this, everyone would die.
Reincarnators trickling into Baqi City had been organized by a few powerful ones, banding together to weather the crisis.
Their top priority was finding this "All Korean People" bastard. If the mission failed, they'd all die—nothing more to say.
But if they could hold out until the Orc Army retreated, they wouldn't let that scumbag off easy. They planned to grab him and toss him straight into the Orc horde, making him pay for his actions.
Nikalim, as a "high-tier gear" holder, had been entrusted with a key task: checking IDs at the city gate and persuading incoming Reincarnators to join the group against the Orc siege.
When the guy demanded his ID, Chen Feng knew they were probably hunting for the mission activator. But he had no intention of revealing his ID here.
After all, the Reincarnation Master had been making waves lately. He didn't want trouble, and their attitude pissed him off.
Chen Feng ignored him, sidestepping to enter the city, but the crowd immediately closed in.
"You deaf or what? Either show your ID, or we beat it out of you. Your choice." Nikalim blocked him again, smug.
"Scram!!!" Chen Feng was already annoyed by the world upgrade curveball. Now someone was asking for it. In a flash, he burst through the crowd, his palms turning into a blur of strikes. He slapped each of them across the face, knocking them to the ground, then strolled off leisurely.
