"The great God of the Sea has descended! The great God of the Sea has descended upon his loyal Douluo Continent!"
In order to gather Faith Power, Tang San did not hide himself. Instead, he traveled from the coast with Er Ming and the Sea God Island priests, displaying divine miracles along the way. The God of the Sea's phantom kept moving across the sky, flying toward its destination—Shrek Academy.
Whether commoners or nobles, all those who had grown up listening to the legends of the God of the Sea were awed by the phantom in the sky. The unrest across the land gradually subsided, and they faithfully offered up their Faith Power.
As Tang San looked at the enormous city drawing ever closer, his emotions churned. After hearing Er Ming and the Sea God High Priest's account of the previous events, Tang San felt that the other party might not necessarily be able to defeat him. But to be safe, he had displayed divine miracles and gathered Faith Power to replenish this incarnation formed from divine power.
The people of Shrek Academy had long been waiting in the air for Lord Sea God's arrival. Jing Hongchen silently cursed the God of the Sea for being such a nuisance, but he could only wait respectfully among the group. There was no helping it; the Sun Moon Empire had never produced a god.
The people of Shrek City had already formed a sea of humanity outside the city, eagerly awaiting the descent of their greatest pride.
Looking at the blue-gold figure on the distant horizon that nearly filled their entire field of vision, everyone cheered in unison at Lord Sea God's arrival.
"A god... This is my first time seeing a god. How impressive."
Wang Dong lay atop the city wall, watching the approaching procession as she spoke.
"I wonder if gods can revive humans?"
Huo Yuhao stared at the phantom whose face he could not make out and murmured.
"It's obvious you two haven't been paying attention in history class lately. That lesson focused on the God of the Sea's deeds. The God of the Sea once died, then was revived by a god."
"Of course gods can revive humans. It's even very simple for them. They just need to find a human soul, use divine power to shape a body, then stuff the soul inside. That's all."
Lu Wu's voice sounded beside Huo Yuhao's ear. Though his tone was calm, it filled Huo Yuhao with excitement.
"Then can someone who died long ago still be revived?"
Huo Yuhao was somewhat nervous. His mother had already been dead for several months. He wondered whether there was still any hope.
Wang Dong also turned over curiously. She had not expected Lu Wu to know about such things. And Yuhao seemed to have someone he wanted to revive. Was it a family member?
"Of course. As long as the soul has not been destroyed."
Lu Wu narrowed his eyes at the phantom. Probably to boost morale, Tang San had also created a phantom to draw attention.
Huo Yuhao's eyes lit up. Before, he had merely been driven onward by Sky Dream Ice Silkworm's dream, but now endless motivation erupted from within him. He wanted to become a god. He had to become a god.
"Is there someone you want to revive?"
Lu Wu turned to Huo Yuhao, still wearing that gentle expression.
Looking into those deep eyes, Huo Yuhao felt as though his consciousness were being swallowed by the abyss within them. After hesitating for a moment, he finally spoke his heart.
"I want to revive my mother."
Huo Yuhao's tone was firm, and his gaze was filled with boundless resolve. He did not expect the God of the Sea to help a little soul master like him. He could only find a way to become a god himself and revive his mother afterward.
Wang Dong tilted her head at Huo Yuhao, thinking that it was no wonder he had always worked so hard.
"Let's work hard together. I'll help you."
Wang Dong patted Huo Yuhao on the shoulder to comfort him, but her face suddenly turned red. She had only been thinking about comforting him. But helping him meant cultivating together with him, didn't it? There was no telling whether they could become gods in this lifetime. Wouldn't that mean being tied together for life? A man and a woman tied together for life... Just as Huo Yuhao was feeling touched, he saw Wang Dong standing there blankly with flushed cheeks, and all his emotions vanished at once.
"Could you give everything to revive your mother?"
An odd smile appeared on Lu Wu's face. Tang San wanted to play the emotional card with Huo Yuhao's mother's resurrection, but he had already taken Huo Yun'er's soul away. How would Tang San explain that? And what choice would Huo Yuhao make in the end?
"Lord Sea God is here! Lord Sea God is here!"
Just as Huo Yuhao was about to ask something, an enormous cheer erupted from the crowd below, interrupting him. Seeing Lu Wu turn away, he could only look toward the God of the Sea as well.
The sky was smooth as a mirror, its clear expanse like a crystalline sapphire. As Tang San drew closer, golden light spread across the heavens from the distance toward Shrek Academy.
"I am Tang San, God of the Sea."
Tang San's gentle voice rang in everyone's ears.
Within Shrek Academy, the Golden Ancient Tree suddenly erupted with gentle golden light that shot directly into the sky. It then enveloped all of Shrek City, making the city look like a golden city from afar.
Mu En was slightly dazed as he basked in the soft light. Sea God's Light... As expected, it was much easier for the God of the Sea to use.
"Long live Lord Sea God!"
"Lord Sea God is amazing!"
"I'm going to have Lord Sea God's baby, damn it!"
The crowd fell silent for a moment before erupting into even louder cheers.
"Mu En, the unworthy successor of Shrek Academy, leads all of Shrek Academy's Titled Douluo in welcoming Lord Sea God's descent."
Mu En spoke with a respectful expression. He had never believed that a god's temperament would remain unchanged after so many years. Besides, according to the true records, this one had never been particularly kind-hearted. He had to survive. Even if he had to endure humiliation and bear heavy burdens, he had to survive. Shrek Academy had to continue its legacy.
"Not bad."
Tang San came to Mu En's side and patted his shoulder. A trace of pity flashed through his eyes as he sent a tiny amount of divine power into Mu En to help repair his body.
Mu En only felt warmth spread throughout his body. The pain was gone at last, and he truly stood upright again.
"Thank you for Lord Sea God's blessing."
Mu En quickly bowed in gratitude. This was an unexpected delight.
The people of Shrek Academy were even more overjoyed. Because of his injuries, Elder Mu could only remain at Shrek Academy and could not even fight freely. Now that his injuries had healed, they had gained another true ultimate combatant.
"Thank you for Lord Sea God's blessing!"
Jing Hongchen stood among the group, feeling as sick as if he had eaten shit. I'm the master of Mingde Hall in the Sun Moon Empire, yet I'm bowing to the God of the Sea at Shrek Academy. Isn't this just utterly disgusting?
"Enter the academy."
A faint smile appeared on Tang San's face. It seemed that using this sliver of divine power to win people over had worked quite well. Next, he could let them put in more effort for him.
"We obey Lord Sea God's command."
Everyone answered respectfully.
Tang San was the first to step into Sea God Pavilion, with the Sea God Island group and the Douluo Continent group entering side by side behind him.
The golden light slowly faded away, and the cheering crowd on the ground returned home, each going back to their normal lives now that there was no spectacle left to watch. Still, some people grabbed friends who had not gone outside the city to share what they had seen.
"Why does the God of the Sea feel so familiar to me?"
Wang Dong had a headache again. There were more things she could not remember.
Huo Yuhao pursed his lips. He recalled the Trident on Wang Dong's forehead. The God of the Sea's phantom also held a Trident, and they seemed identical. But Wang Dong was connected to the God of the Sea again, and judging from his master's reaction back then, it had not seemed like a good thing.
