After Xiang Yuan studied the Heavenly Dao, Numinous Treasure Heavenly Worthy summoned him to join the coming Immortal-Slaying Formation and outlined a plan that included taking Daoist Cihang from Yuanshi.

• Numinous Treasure Heavenly Worthy seized Xiang Yuan from the river of time and brought him to Jade Wanderer Palace, where he killed Long-Eared Fixed-Light Immortal and revealed that he knew the future.
• Numinous Treasure Heavenly Worthy explained that he intended to exploit his temporary advantage by having Xiang Yuan impersonate Long-Eared Fixed-Light Immortal during the Great Investiture of the Gods Tribulation.
• Golden Spirit Holy Mother showed Xiang Yuan around Jade Wanderer Palace and told him ancient secrets about the Three Pure Ones and their sects.
• Xiang Yuan entered Great Luo Heaven, copied the earliest laws of the Heavenly Dao into his small world, and emerged from seclusion one hundred days later.

Xiang Yuan watched Numinous Treasure Heavenly Worthy confront Venerable Lord of Morality and Primeval Heavenly Venerable, who entered the Immortal-Slaying Sword Formation with Daoist Jieyin and Daoist Zhunti. As the formation’s battle turned against Zhunti and the Seven Attendant Immortals, Numinous Treasure Heavenly Worthy signaled Xiang Yuan, who revealed the Six Soul Banner.

• Numinous Treasure Heavenly Worthy broke the Nine-Bend Yellow River Formation and confronted Venerable Lord of Morality and Primeval Heavenly Venerable after they subdued the Three Xiao Immortals and their formation.
• Primeval Heavenly Venerable awakened the Twelve Golden Immortals, restored their ability to travel with the Vertical Golden Light Art, and accused Numinous Treasure Heavenly Worthy’s disciples of opposing Heaven’s mandate.
• Numinous Treasure Heavenly Worthy summoned the Four Immortal-Slaying Swords and established the Immortal-Slaying Sword Formation, then invited the two Heavenly Venerables inside.

Xiang Yuan helped Numinous Treasure Heavenly Worthy defeat the four sect leaders, then was forced into Primeval Heavenly Venerable’s plan to merge the Prehistoric Realm with the Dry Abyss Realm. At the origin of time, the Three Pure Ones revealed their roles in the cycle of creation and destruction, and Xiang Yuan prepared to establish a new Dao and begin the world’s creation.

• Xiang Yuan used the Six Soul Banner to shake the four sect leaders’ Dao hearts, letting Numinous Treasure Heavenly Worthy drive Venerable Lord of Morality and Primeval Heavenly Venerable from the Immortal-Slaying Sword Formation.
• Xiang Yuan tricked Zhunti, took the Seven Treasures Wondrous Tree and the roots of the Yellow Springs Mother Tree, then defeated Zhunti with a single punch.
• Primeval Heavenly Venerable revealed Xiang Yuan’s connection to the coming Heavenly Dao and sent him toward the Dry Abyss Realm, but Xiang Yuan refused and followed Primeval Heavenly Venerable into the past.
• Xiang Yuan absorbed devastated Prehistoric Realms into his small world, then merged the Dry Abyss Realm with them as the River of Time carried him back to its origin.
• At the origin of time, Primeval Heavenly Venerable, Venerable Lord of Morality, and Numinous Treasure Heavenly Worthy explained the cycle of the Dao and left Xiang Yuan to unfold the Heavenly Dao.
• Xiang Yuan created two clones to split open heaven and teach the Three Thousand Great Daos while he planned to travel to the future and bring the women back.
