Background / History

Mo Fan first meets Bai Mo during the investigation of demon tunnels beneath Bocheng. Though suspicious of Bai Mo's claimed “Dragon Group” connection, he follows him into the tunnels out of concern for his sister, Xin Xia. Bai Mo's Intermediate Summoning cultivation and confidence against demons leave Mo Fan both shocked and reassured. 59 60

He later seeks Bai Mo's advice on contracting summoned beasts. Bai Mo tells him that summoned beasts should be treated as partners rather than slaves, while warning that the Summoning Element requires substantial resources and repeated dimensional travel. 126

During the Pearl Institute expedition, Lu Nian targets Mo Fan for experimentation because of his innate dual elements. Bai Mo explains that success would grant extraordinary power, while failure would turn Mo Fan into a monster without self-awareness. 171
